Modern Human Sacrifice

Contemporary art mirrors contemporary controversies. As artists, our mission is to walk the fine line between these issues and provide illumination. Through the idea of illumination, Modern Human Sacrifice depicts the act of abortion as observed through the lens of 21st-century American society. The acrylic and metal symbolism shows the grand feminine ideal offering their glory out to the lower masses. Young women offer their children and intended futures to the ideal in order to achieve their vision of their own feminine ideal. The city is built upon the sacrificial blood of this exchange and the base of the edifice is enshrined with the sanctity and purity of the new unrealized future. All that is left in the servant is a hollow space that can never be restored.
